SEC

Regulates the CSD in accordance with the CSD Act (Act 733).

Participants

Banks, brokerage firms, custodian firms, SSNIT, and the Bank of Ghana.

Issuers

Government of Ghana, Bank of Ghana, and Ghana Cocoa Board, alongside 39 listed/unlisted institutions.

Investors

Investors are individuals, firms and institutions living in Ghana or abroad that hold securities account in the depository

Shareholders

Bank of Ghana and Ghana Stock Exchange.

The idea of establishing a Depository in Ghana originated from Ghana’s Financial Sector Strategic Plan (FINSSP) developed in the early 2000’s to reform the financial system and to attract investors into the Ghanaian economy. As a result, a National Bond Market Committee was established
